Your Options for Overdraft Protection

All eligible checking accounts are set up with Courtesy Pay 30 days after the account is opened, but you do have other choices. The table below describes all the options you can use to protect your account from overdrafts. If you find yourself continuously using one of these features or are having trouble keeping your account from going negative, we encourage you to contact our partner, GreenPath. How does it work? Instead of a transaction being returned or declined, UNCLE may pay the transaction on your behalf. Instead of a transaction being returned or declined, UNCLE may pay the transaction on your behalf. Funds from your UNCLE savings and/or money market account will be automatically transferred to your checking account to cover the transaction (subject to available funds). Funds from your UNCLE Personal or Home Equity Line of Credit will be advanced to your checking account to cover the transaction (subject to available funds). Funds from your UNCLE Visa credit card will be advanced to your checking account to cover the transaction. Checks and electronic (ACH) transactions will be returned unpaid.

Automatic recurring debit card transactions will be declined.

Everyday debit card transactions will be declined at the point of sale or when you swipe and sign.

What does it cost?

$35.00 per transaction.

After the transaction is paid by UNCLE, you'll be asked to make a deposit to cover the negative balance in your account.

$5.00 per transfer. Free for the advance. Daily interest is charged on the outstanding balance. Amount transferred will be charged a 2% cash advance fee, and daily interest is charged on the outstanding balance. Transactions will be charged a $35.00 Non-Sufficient Funds-Item Returned fee.
Are there any restrictions?

Everyday debit card and ATM transactions will be declined.

Other transactions will be paid up to your Courtesy Pay Limit.

*You must be enrolled in Online Banking and already have a savings account, money market account and/or line of credit. Once logged in, click on the 'gear wheel' to the left of your checking account, select Overdraft Protection from the menu and select which accounts you want to use for overdraft. If you'd like to open a new savings account, money market account or line of credit click on Application Center within Online Banking, then follow the steps in the previous sentence.
