Thursday, April 3, 2025
5PM to 7:30PM
Bankhead Theater
2400 First Street, Livermore, CA 94550
Think you’d never fall for scam? Scammers are getting sneakier by sliding into DMs (direct messages), faking accounts and pulling off cons even the sharpest internet sleuths might be tricked into.
Our first guest speaker is Kerry Rego, a social media consultant and Associate Faculty at Santa Rosa Junior College, who will deep dive into digital financial scams, how to set proper security settings, and provide online resources for students and parents. Then, hear from Kue Lee, Director of Outreach at the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI), on the basics of fraud prevention and financial literacy. Learn how to spot red flags and not click on ‘sus’ (suspicious) links in this seminar you won’t want to miss!
Evening refreshments provided. #SwipeLeftOnScammers
